Heaven Moves When We Praise

Image
“With my hands lifted up, and my mouth filled with praise, With a heart of thanksgiving, I will bless Thee, O Lord.” This morning, I woke up with that timeless worship chorus stirring in my spirit. It wasn't just a melody—it was a message. A gentle reminder from the Lord: Praise is powerful. Praise is necessary. Praise shifts things. In the busyness of life and the weight of our many responsibilities, it’s easy to approach prayer as a running list of requests. We ask. We plead. We intercede. And while these are vital expressions of our relationship with God, I found myself in a season where even forming those words felt heavy. The usual rhythm of prayer became difficult—too complex for the state my heart was in. In that stillness, I felt led to simplify. To strip it all down to one sincere offering: praise. No elaborate words. No long petitions. Just a lifted hand, a whispered “thank You,” and a heart surrendered in worship. Because there’s a sacred dimension to prayer that often...

Time, Prayer, and Gratitude in the Midst of Loss

Image
I didn’t know which direction to take with this blog post. Like so many, I was deeply saddened by the passing of Malcolm-Jamal Warner. Though I didn’t personally know him, I grew up watching The Cosby Show , a groundbreaking series that not only shifted the landscape of entertainment but also had a profound impact on the Black community. As I watched the many condolences being shared, I couldn’t help but think about the incredible influence he had—not just within the Black community, but on the world of entertainment as a whole. His family has every reason to be proud and to celebrate the life he lived. In reflecting on this, I was reminded of a sobering truth: time waits for no one. Time is a precious gift. Just as we don’t know the day or the hour when Jesus will return (Matthew 24:36), we also don’t know when God has appointed our time to leave this earth. We must make the most of every moment we are given. Growing up, I would often hear adults say things like, “When I ret...

"How Has Prayer Changed Your Life?"-- Minister Lorri Weaver

Image
Meet Minister Lorri Weaver— A true Titus 2 Woman! In this week’s blog, I am honored to shine a light on one of the remarkable individuals who faithfully serves within the Watchmen International community. It brings me great joy to introduce Minister Lorri Weaver. I have had the privilege of mentoring Lorri through discipleship and witnessing her growth in the knowledge and wisdom of the Lord. Our connection was not the result of coincidence — it was divine providence. Lorri often shares how she had been seeking women of God who were authentic and steadfast in their walk. In 2020, during a 24-hour prayer event I participated in, Lorri encountered me and several other women of faith for the first time. What began as a single moment of connection blossomed into a lasting sisterhood. Lorri is a military veteran and a former healthcare professional. Alongside her service, she is the proud mother of four beautiful children and three wonderful grand-loves!! Beyond her professional accom...

A Prayer of Encouragement for the Seventh Month: Pressing Forward in God's Grace

Image
As we enter the seventh month of the year, it’s hard to believe how quickly time has passed. For some, these past months have been filled with blessings, open doors, and answered prayers. For others, the journey may have felt slow, heavy, or uncertain. But no matter where you find yourself today — whether you’re rejoicing, weary, hopeful, or still searching — I want to remind you: God is not finished with this year, and He is certainly not finished with you. Just recently, I was part of a prayer call where the Bishop shared a powerful word — this is our turning point . We are stepping into a new season — a season of newness and change. And while change can be uncomfortable, it is often the doorway to the very breakthroughs we’ve been praying for. I’ll be honest — I didn’t always embrace change. Growing up, especially during those pivotal pre-teen and teenage years , my family made two significant moves that left a lasting impact on me. Those transitions shook my sense of stability and...

We Are the Fragrance of Christ

Image
“But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.” – 2 Corinthians 2:14 Over the past few weeks, I’ve been on a personal journey—studying words that capture my attention, whether in Scripture or through a song. This week, I caught myself humming the lyrics, “God is like the fragrance after the rain.” That line stirred something in me. I became curious— Is the word “fragrance” found in the Bible? My search led me to 2 Corinthians 2 , and what I discovered shifted my entire perspective on that one simple word: fragrance . Have you ever walked into a room and instantly noticed a scent—something sweet, refreshing, or inviting? Fragrance has a way of capturing attention. It lingers. It speaks. And according to the Apostle Paul, we—as followers of Christ—are meant to carry that same kind of spiritual aroma everywhere we go. Led in Triumph Paul paints a powerful image in 2 Corinthians 2...

The Spark That Ignites: When God Moves, We Are Set Ablaze

Image
Warm greetings to all our faithful readers, Have you ever felt like your soul was smoldering—full of potential but in need of a holy spark to set it aflame?  I’ll never forget the first time I experienced the fire of God within me. It was about 14 years ago during a prayer meeting, surrounded by faithful intercessors, hands joined in unity. As we prayed, one of the elder intercessors gripped my hand—and in that moment, I felt her hand ignite with a holy fire. That fire leapt into me. I was ignited. Fast forward to April 2025, while preparing for our retreat in Pennsylvania, one of our prayer leaders spoke six powerful words that stirred something deep in my spirit: “All it takes is one spark.” Those words have stayed with me ever since. And sure enough, during one of our early morning prep sessions—before the attendees even arrived—that spark showed up again. As the intercessory team pressed in, a tangible shift filled the room. Hearts were stirred, tears flowed, and the fire of ...
